On September 2, the first Central China Carbon Material Industry International Symposium in 2023 with the theme of “Gathering Global Forces for a Win-win Future of Materials” was successfully held in Changyuan City, Henan Province.
Konstantin Novoselov, winner of the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2010, Professor at the University of Manchester, UK, Alexander Vikochko, academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Engineering Sciences, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and other experts, scholars and industry pioneers from all over the world in various fields gathered in Changyuan to discuss the latest development trend of the carbon material industry and the transformation and application of related technological achievements, promoting integrated development of industry, universities and research institutes.

The launch ceremony of the Steering Committee of the Central China Branch of the International Carbon Materials Union (ICMU) was held at the symposium. Taking this opportunity will effectively promote the graphene and carbon materials industry in the Central China region to carry out more extensive domestic and international exchanges and cooperation, and help the industry collaborate and leapfrog development.

During the keynote presentation session, Professor Konstantin Novoselov, Academician Micaela Zawadzki, Academician Wang Shouguo and President Wang Xudong were invited to attend the symposium and delivered keynote speeches on cutting-edge achievements respectively.

At the signing ceremony, Beijing Institute of Graphene Technology Changyuan Branch and Changfeng Integrated Industrial Park Settled Enterprises signed contracts, which will promote the transformation of graphene and new materials related application technology achievements, and introduce and cultivate several influential new material application projects for the development of Changyuan new materials industry. This move will support Changyuan to build an innovation platform and inject industrial innovation vitality.
