CIGIU Assists in Hi-quality Development of Graphene Industry in Wuxi

 

On May 30, the 2019 China Graphene Industry Hi-quality Development Forum, jointly organized by Huishan Administration of Economic and Development Zone, Wuxi, Jiangsu province, Wuxi Administration for Market Regulation, Special Equipment Safety Supervision Inspection Institute of Jiangsu Province, Beijing Association for the Promotion of Advanced Carbon Materials and CIGIU, was successfully held in Wuxi.

With the theme of “Improve quality, boost industry and serve the market”, the conference was attended by well-known academicians, experts, industry representatives, major CIGIU members in Wuxi, and staff of related compaines, totalling about 350 people.

Lu Zhijian, vice mayor of Wuxi, said, with the nation-first quality supervision and testing center in place, the Wuxi Demonstration Zone of Graphene Industry has formed a complete chain of innovation, industry and service. In the government’s next step, he pointed out that the local government would continue to seek links with related enterprises home and abroad, and deepen cooperation with research institutes, to boost regional graphene Industry and gain a strong position in the international market.

Ruan Ruxiang, Permanent Vice Chairman of CIGIU, said, “application of the graphene materials is very promising, and we need to treat the new materials in an objective, reasonable and scientific way, to utilize them sustainably and maintain its sound development.” He continued to point out that CIGIU would further cooperation with the National Graphene Center, “since the foundation of CIGIU, we’ve been committed to the establishment of an open platform of advanced carbon materials, through which we can exchange information as well as resources like intellectual property right with companies, universities and research institutes, to promote R&D of the new materials and give a boost to the whole industry,” he said.

In the opening ceremony, Yangtze River Delta Research Center of Beijing Graphene Institute was officially launched, which will further promote the graphene industry in the region and give support to the industry in Wuxi, as well as the whole Yangzte river delta.

During the forum, Liu Zhongfan, member of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor of Peking University and dean of the Beijing Graphene Center, and Liu Yunqi, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and researcher of Institute of Chemistry in the same Academy, both gave brilliant reports to the public.

This successful event will no doubt give Wuxi a boost to its economic development, talent incubation, business attraction and industry upgrading. In the future, CIGIU will help to further scientific exchanges and industry upgrade in Wuxi by utilizing its platform, meanwhile, it will also help to promote a high-quality development of the graphene industry in Wuxi through international exchanges of research achievements and an establishment of a standard system in the graphene industry.
