CIGIU and the Alchemist Group of India Discussed the Establishment of China-India Graphene Industry

On the afternoon of Oct 25th, the representatives of the CIGIU and India exchanged views on the establishment of Sino-Indian graphene fund in order to implement the Agreement on the Cooperative Development Fund between Sino-India Graphene Industry signed by CIGIU and the Alchemist Group of India on the 2016 International Graphene Industry Advanced Seminar in Beijing., Singh, an Indian MP, chairman of the Alchemist Group, M.J., head of the union in New Delhi, Huang Hansen, head of the union in Singapore, Chang Qing, chairman of the World Tourism Alliance, Zhao Jinming, chairman of the Beijing Huatai Jincheng Investment Management Co., Ltd., Li Aiguo, president of the CITIC Financial Holding Management Co., Ltd, Zhang Yiheng, general manager of Beijing management of the China Minsheng Bank, Hu Jiesen, chairman of Zhongcheng Capital, head of the union in Hong Kong, Zhao Qiuping, chief executive officer of culture and innovation department of Taiwan's Technical Services Agency, William Liu, the secretary general of CIGIU, Jiang Yiquan, administrative deputy secretary general of CIGIU took part in this meeting.

The meeting was presided over by William Liu, the secretary general of CIGIU. The major sponsor unit of the two sides exchanged ideas on the issues such as the form of fund, registered address, size, operation and management, and the direction for investment, they asked the information about the technology and market of the proposed project, at the same time, they discussed about the establishment of the project, the payment and usage of the cost for fund preparation.

The Indian representatives said that their Ministry of Science and Technology was very interested in the new material-graphene, they felt that the speed of China in the development of graphene was very fast, in this way, they hoped to further deepen the cooperation between our two countries in science and technology under the framework of friendly development strategy, they suggested to set up an open unlimited fund with the mode of rolling development, and upgrade the fund to a higher level to become an innovative science fund. The major investment was to graphene project, especially the project between Sino-India, and the other part of the fund can be invested to other good science project, especially to the countries along the Belt and Road.

The Chinese side said that China were still in the leading stage and entered the stage of industrialization in graphene industries with more projects. In this way, China could be regarded as the key in fund investment. If the relative applications were needed by India later, the mature technology and projects could be brought to India. At the same time, they suggested Sino-India fund to cooperate with National Graphene Innovation Center to jointly set up an intellectual property fund.

Finally, the two sides reached a consensus that it was the common trend of both countries to strengthen cross-border communication and cooperation in today’s period of global economic integration, we should further improve the friendship between China and India on the original basis so as to bring the two countries’ cooperation to a new height.
